BOFESETE Funeral Scheme (BOFUS)
BOFESETE FUNERAL SCHEME (BOFUS) is a Funeral Scheme established in 1998 and the primary aim for its existence is to provide members of Botswana Sector of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU) who are BOFUS members with financial assistance for them to get a dignified funeral on the death of a member or their dependent. Categorically, this is mainly to assist BOFUS members and their beneficiaries to get dignified funeral services when they depart.
When members take out BOFUS funeral services they enter into an agreement as they commit to paying a monthly premium to keep their policies active. Members can choose from different cover plans depending on how many people they want to insure, for example, immediate family, extended family, parents and parents-in-laws, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and more. BOFUS cover packages differ in the number of dependents/beneficiaries covered and hence the premium amounts differ too. There are 4 (four) cover packages namely, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.

In addition, Members have optional cover benefits of insuring their beneficiaries falling outside the scheme packages by paying an additional premium per a beneficiary.
Benefits of P10.50 for extra member
Once a member stop paying their premiums for three consecutive months, their cover automatically lapses, and they will be required to reapply again if they want to be insured again. In the case where the main member is deceased, the remaining dependents are allowed to continue paying the policy premiums so that the policy remains active for them to benefit.
Morutabana App
Existing members can check and update their policy records through a Self-Service Mobile App – MORUTABANA APP which is available on Playstore (Android Phones).
This is key in ensuring that members policies are up to date and their beneficiaries are fully covered.
