BOSETU National Governing Council

Mrs Hildah Keitumetse nee Bakani is a teacher at Francistown Senior Secondary School. She is offering Chemistry and holding the post of Senior Teacher 1.

She started her teaching career in 1997 after completing her Bachelor of Science (Education) from the University of Botswana. She also completed Post Graduate Certificate in Organisational Development with St Paul University, Manila. She is now doing her master’s degree in Organisational Development with the same University. The first appointment was in Dikgatlho CJSS in Kudumatse, then moved to Moeng College in 2000. In 2008 she was promoted to the post of Senior Teacher 1 Chemistry and transferred to Shashe River School, where she has been there until May 2023 and transferred to FSS.

• Mrs Keitumetse joined BOSETU, by then as an association BOFESETE in 1998.
• In 2004 she joined the union leadership structure as the President of Womens Wing Tswapong Region under the leadership of Comrade Solomon Batsietswe.
• In 2009 she was coopted into the Shashe River School cell Committee as a gender representative.
• In 2011 she became the Vice Regional Chair of Tonota Region.
• 2012 she took the position of the regional chairperson.
• In 2014 BOSETU went through restructuring and Tonota Region, Francistown Region and North East Regions were merged to be one region called North East Region. Mrs Keitumetse again became the Vice Regional Chairperson of North East Region as well as the Branch Chairperson of Tonota Central branch.
• That very year she also formed part of the National Grievance Committee.
• In 2017 she became the Regional Chairperson of North East and continued sitting in the National Grievance committee.
• In 2021 Mrs Keitumetse was elected as an additional Member of the BOSETU National Executive Committee, where she was attached to the Secretariat Desk.
• She was coopted in the Constitutional Review Committee, National Grievance Committee as well as the National Labour Relations Committee
• May 2023 Mrs Keitumetse was coopted as the BOSETU National Secretary for Gender Affairs.
• Mrs Keitumetse has been instrumental in resourcing workshops in the North East Region particularly on statues like the Public Service Act as well as the Employment act.
• She also resourced in various forums of the union on women leadership even in the church.
