Writ of Elections: National Executive Committee

Pursuant to Article 21.4 of the Constitution of the Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU), read together with Article 5.1 of BOSETU Electoral Policy a writ of elections is hereby issued. The elections shall be held on the 31st August 2024 at the Elective Congress. Members are accordingly invited to submit proposed names for nominations to the office of the National Executive Committee (NATEX).

The following positions shall be contested for at the August 2024 Elective Congress in accordance with Article 18.4.2 of BOSETU Constitution and 4.2.4 of the BOSETU Electoral Policy;

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Secretary General
  4. Vice Secretary General
  5. National Treasurer
  6. National Organising Secretary
  7. Secretary for Research, Education and Training
  8. Publicity Secretary
  9. Secretary for Gender Affairs
  10. Secretary for Sports and Culture
  11. Secretary for Occupational Health and Safety
  12. Secretary for Pre & Primary Sector
  13. Secretary for Secondary Sector
  14. Secretary for Tertiary Sector
  15. Two (2) Additional Members

Therefore, I Annah Obakeng Motswakgalagadi in my capacity as the Electoral Committee Chairperson, hereby direct that nomination forms be obtained from any BOSETU Regional Office across Botswana. I further direct the Regional Organizers to receive the nomination forms for the above positions, not later than one (1) month of date of issuance of this writ (26th April 2024). Note that only hand delivered nomination forms shall be accepted.

The list of names for 2024 candidates shall be publicized through the social network platforms and other public avenues available.  This is to accord BOSETU general membership the opportunity to appreciate the candidates who aspire to represent them in the different positions.
